Tyracron Update....

Okay, so I caved, clipped the Tau legs (gently, gently) and stuck the 'Nid warrior legs on there. He looks more athletic, but.... now more buggy. Hmmmmmm.....

One thing that disappoints me (beside the cricket-style pinions on the back) is that the 'Nid Warrior legs are capable of only one posture, which means that all of the poses are going to be variations of the same; left leg forward, right back, with the right shoulder forward. You can tell I'm going to have to either live with the awkwardness here or break up/repose the model. Boooo.

The Nid legs may look better, but the Tau ones offer better possibilities. Hmmmmmm.....

(PS, yes, he is stuck into that pad by his head-horn. It was easier to turn the whole thing towards the desk lamp and shoot it sideways rather than unclamp the lamp.)

Still looks good though.

I do like the overall silhouette that the 'Nid legs give the model, perhaps some thin tubing/pistons down the legs to add back a touch of the mechanical feel may be in order? All in all I really like the look!

I think I prefer the Tau legs. The reasoning behind it is that it gave a more even blend of flesh and machine. As it stands, this model only has a cybernetic head, and carries a gun, whereas the Tau legs made it almost 50% mechanical.

As you said yourself, it also lends itself to more creative positioning as well. The only real downside to the Tau legs is cost (which I'm sure is dramatic, considering these are rank-and-file troopers). Why did you switch them in the first place?

@Warhammer39999: To see how they looked, of course! The 'Nid legs come with the pelvi (pelvises?) and the Tau legs have to be ordered separately, obviously. I was curious as to how the look would be if this was done in one kit or a combination thereof.

I'm still unsure, though. :(
