Tyracrons: Every Army Needs a General...

This fellow just started building himself, really. I realized Hive Tyrant models have utterly no shoulders, and built his out a little using some tubing, Cryx shoulders, and cannonry piping. The real question now is, lightsabers or boneswords? Hmm... time for another survey...

Hmm. I think lightsabers would look cool but be iffy to pull off. What about taking the whole 'tube' motif you've got with the necron bits, and basically taking a long tube and making it look like some kind of hacksaw; the green 'tube' would just be the cutting arc.

Not sure how practical that would be, but I think it'd fit with your theme.

Failing that, I'd go for some kind of long, boxy sword with green-painted edges and wiring cables from the pommel down the arms into the torso or some other power supply.

Any way you do it, keep up the awesome work.

If you want to do the lightsaber thing, a buddy of mine at the local shop made some power swords out of the translucent green plastic sprues that the 40k templates and objective markers come on. Perhaps this would work for you?

Boneswords with gauss tubes down the centre of them

@ Raptor: You might've read my mind; I was staring at the Sword Strike Gundam's (from Gundam SEED) bigass "arc" sword.

@ Greg: Pictures? I was looking at 1/8" dia acrylic tubing (it comes in blue, red, and green)

I wish I took a picture. He did all this before he primed it, and kinda...well, painted them black before he realized what he was doing.
