More and more I've been seeing blog entries from others, saying they're discontinuing their blogs in favor of other mediums, such as Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook groups. I've definitely been seeing a change in trends over the years, as readership/interaction in some pages remains strong while other communities have fallen off the face of the internet.
Have you folks experienced this? What do you think?

Nothing quite like a good blog I say!
But I hate social media so.....
I've seen changes but I still find blogging to offer more freedom and opportunities to really develop compared to just dumping pics on Instagram and the likes really. It's a tool of the past I reckon but it still does the job I want to do better than any other.
So I've been blogging for 8+ years now and have seen it change with social media. But I don't think blogs are dead as it is where people still land when doing searches.
Social media is great to do a quick showcase, ask questions, and get quick feedback. But then it is gone in the tide of posts. I mostly use it to interact with other hobbyists.
I'm still reading and posting links to blog articles from years ago.
@Joe B: I agree, there's a real issue with things like quick tweets, instagrams, etc burying each other as new ones get put in, and then you'd have to go digging, and even then it's just this little bit of stuff. There's a lack of real depth that, among other things, fosters that feeling of community.
@Asslessman: Seconded. I think you get to know the other person and their process more fully, which in turn helps you become a better craftsman.
@TheGungrave: Yep! The "quick" ones just feel kind of lacking, don't they?
